Our Story

2019

Some of you may ask why I got into beekeeping. Well the simple answer is one of my friends said this is how to get all the honeys.

I needed to find a hobby and my hay fever was playing havoc on my life and thus I began looking into ways to help my hay fever and the idea of 'having some bees' was born. Originally I was looking at something like a flowhive but further research showed they're not entirely suitable for the UK.

Over the next few months many friends were annoyed with Bee facts and stories.

2020

Researching, Learning and planning.

Along with continuing to annoy my friends about Bee's

December - Website Launched

2021

January - First Beehive purchased

May 13th - 2 Nucleus Hives delivered

August - 1st Honey crop harvested

August - First years honey for sale

2022

What a year!

We managed to get set up quite well, harvesting roughly 30KG of Honey from the 2 hives we have.

We also started selling our Honey in the local Ossett Area Offering Free Delivery to WF5 areas!

2023

March - It's been a bit of a wet march so the Bee's haven't been doing very much at the moment.

April - The Bee's have had a lovely winter and are preparing to Pollinate the local area.

We put on our first honey Super preparing for the spring flowering crops and plants in the Ossett area.

We will be extracting the Spring Honey in a few months hopefully.

We're also expanding from 2 to 4 Hives this year! However this is likely to be the end of April / May when they arrive. The 2 new hives we likely won't get any Honey that we can take from them this year as we like to see the bee's flourish and never take more than they can spare.
